8:30 - 10:00: Louisiana Seafood Great Southern Chefs Food Demo

Local seafood cooking demo and tastings by champion chef, King 2019 of Louisiana Seafood, Executive Chef Nathan Richard of DTB Restaurant in New Orleans. Nathan draws upon all of his vast experiences, from childhood to the present, to create dishes that are reflective of his life and travels. He believes food should be "hearty, nostalgic and exciting". A special appearance by Jady Regard, "Chief Nut Officer" from Cane River Pecan Company. Seafood provided by Delcambre Direct Seafood. Sponsored by Louisiana Seafood Promotions and Marketing Board and Cane River Pecan Company.

10:00 - 2:00: Dave's Haunts & Jaunts Tour

Begin your tour with a meal at Victor's

Take a guided tour of the locations made famous in James Lee Burke's Dave Robicheaux book series and films. From 10:00-10:30, check in at the door of Dave's favorite lunch spot, Victor's Cafe, to collect your wristband for your included meal. Have your author or series questions ready for our Q&A during the meal at 10:30 with resident Burke expert Howard Kingston! From 11:00 - 2:00, visit Cane River Pecan Co., Teche Motel and more before enjoying refreshments with local artists at the festival's art exhibit. Each ticket includes a voucher for a Free return visit to Shadows-on-the-Teche. Online ticket purchases highly recommended as bus seats are limited, and there is no guarantee of same-day tickets availability. Sponsored by Iberia Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau.

8:30 to 5:30: L'Acadian Art Guild Exhibit

Exhibit featuring original artwork created by our many talented artists will be on display Friday through Sunday during Library hours. A reception to meet the artist will be on Friday from 1:00-2:00. Visit IberiaLibrary.org for more information. Sponsored by L'Acadian Art Guild

2:00 - The Best of Enemies Movie Screening

Free screening of movie based on the novel by the 2020 Great Southern Writer Osha Davidson. A timely drama that centers on an unlikely relationship between Ann Atwater (Taraji P. Henson), an outspoken civil rights activist, and C.P. Ellis (Sam Rockwell), a local Ku Klux Klan leader who reluctantly co-chaired a community summit, battling over the desegregation of schools in Durham, North Carolina during the racially-charged summer of 1971. The incredible events that unfolded would change Durham and the lives of Atwater and Ellis forever.

2:30-5:00: Music & Poetry Louisiana Style

2:30 - 3:30 - Taking The World, by Storm: A Conversation with Warren "Storm" Schexnider, The Godfather of Swamp Pop by Yvette Landry.
Author and fellow musician Yvette Landry talks with Storm about his life, starting with his boyhood in rural Vermilion Parish to meeting Elvis, Hank Williams, Robert Plant, and Fats Domino. Warren's endless stories and anecdotes open a window into the life of a Louisiana music legend with a career spanning over seventy years. Sponsored by UL Press University of Louisiana at Lafayette Press.

4:00 - 5:00 - Darrell Bourque: A Reading from migrare'
Louisiana Poet Laureate emeritus Darrell Bourque explores the ancient Arabic ghazal form keyed to paintings by Shreveport artist Bill Gingles in his latest book, "migrare' ". The poems conjure a vivid, imagistic meditation on pressing issues of migration, difference, and acceptance in the modern world. Sponsored by UL Press University of Louisiana at Lafayette Press.

3:00-5:00: Live Oak Walk

Stroll down Main Street with local arborist Jim Foret, who will enlighten you about the gorgeous oak trees that grace our lovely city, along one of the most beautiful Main Streets in the country. The walk ends at the Quarter Tavern, 910 E. Main St.

6:00 - 8:00: Jazz It Up Opening Reception

Cajun cocktail party featuring music by Bunk Johnson Brazz Band. Cochon de Lait (pig roast) and local seafood from Delcambre Direct Seafood are offered in the gardens of Shadows-on-the-Teche, a National Trust for Historic Preservation site. In the event of inclement weather the event will be held at The Sliman Theater, 129 East Main. Sponsored by Iberia Preservation Alliance and Shadows on the Teche.
