1. Mrs. Heather's Pumpkin Patch, Hammond, LA

Open from Sept. 23 to Nov. 8, this famous pumpkin patch is open seven days a week during its seasonal debut. Not only can families pick a pumpkin directly from the field, but you can also hear Mrs. Heather herself explain how pumpkins grow. Zip lines, jumping pillows, duck races, nature trails, and many more outdoor activities are provided by the farm for good fun entertainment. On the weekends guests are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and paint their pumpkins with others.

2. Curry Farms, Start, LA

This fourth generation farm started in the mid-1800s and is home to one of the most notable pumpkin patches in Richland parish. The patch is open from Sept. 29 to Nov. 4 The $10 admission fee is money well spent that includes a giant climbing spider web, bounce pillow, corn maze, and tons of fun attractions for kids and adults alike. Grab a cup of Bill's world-famous fresh lemonade or use one of their fire pits to cook your own lunch!

3. DixieMaze Farms, Shreveport, LA

This live-on-the-vine patch is the only one for miles around. You can come and pick your perfect pumpkin from a real growing field of pumpkins for an authentic rural experience. The patch closes at dark every day during their fall season, but the farm offers an array of other activities including a haunted maze and a Halloween festival on Halloween!

4. New Orleans City Park Pumpkin Patch, New Orleans, LA

This patch is located on the north side of Big Lake in New Orleans City Park. Pumpkins can be hand picked by families of all shapes and sizes, and a surplus of food, drinks, and activities can be enjoyed as well. Enjoy a hayride, cruise around Big Lake on a pedal boat, get bounced in the bounce house or a temporary tattoo. Photo booths, spooky music, and a super slide are also available. A simple $5 wristband gets you access to all the fun!

5. Anderson Farms, Leesville, LA

This cash-only pumpkin patch is open to the public on weekends and includes a public hayride to the pumpkin patch. In the bar, pumpkins are priced based on size and variety. For the comfort of all guests, smoking is prohibited. This patch is open during the entire month of October!

6. Barn Hill Preserve, Ethel, LA

Open on weekends throughout October, this is a must-visit pumpkin patch in Louisiana! There is a range of events that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Hayrides and a seasonal corn maze provide for fall fun, while face painting, animal encounters, and educational keeper talks also make for priceless good times. 

7. Steele's Christmas Tree Farm, Angie, LA

Don't let the name fool you. Though this farm that was established in 1979 does sell Christmas trees, their fall festival is nothing to joke about as it is Washington Parish's first and only pumpkin patch! They have tons of things to do for kids including a hamster race truck, Tarzan ropes in the hay barn, pumpkin bowling, a petting zoo, and much more. Parents can enjoy snacks from the concession stand and watch the Hog Howler Race Track. The patch is one full acre of pre-picked pumpkins in a cornfield. A great way to spend a beautiful fall day.

8. Jack-O-Lantern Lane, Lafayette, LA

Down in Cajun country, Jack-O-Lantern Lane is the premiere pumpkin patch in the Lafayette area. It's open Sept. 29 to Halloween and has some unique happenings to go along with the patch. For adults, a fresh cornmeal grinding demonstration gives an authentic rural experience. Kids can have some fun in the play area that includes a train as well as gem mining! The country store can serve your appetite right or feel free to bring your own food to the picnic area. Enjoy this beautiful outdoor country setting in Lafayette.

9. Jefferson United Methodist Church, Baton Rouge, LA

Being the largest mission project for this church, all proceeds of this pumpkin patch are donated directly to their local missions as well as their youth mission trip. The patch is open seven days a week from Oct. 11 to 28. On Oct. 28, the church holds their annual Picnic in the Patch event after the 10:30 a.m. service.
