Vermilionville Living History Museum and Folklife Park

300 Fisher Road

The Vermilionville Living History Museum and Folklife Park is a cultural development within the Bayou Vermilion District, serving to preserve the cultural resources of Lafayette Parish and the surrounding region. The museum contains many unique restored historical items within its collection. There are artisans working daily in the park providing an example of how various tasks and crafts were completed back to the early days of the Acadians and Creoles as they worked to create a successful life in the Attakapas Region of the new Louisiana territory.

The park is a picturesque representation of a village from a time period of 1765 to 1890. Within the park visitors are allowed an up close look at many examples of early building architecture as well as how inhabitants worked in their day to day life.

We hope your visit to Vermilionville provides a memorable historical and cultural experience.

Today I had lunch at the cafe, good down home cooking, but most of all the service was the best I've had in months. Being a single elderly lady I don't get much attention , expecially when I'm by myself. But everyone in the cafe had a Hello and a smile. When my waitress has to help another section, another happy waitress came to my request. I will go back much sooner than usual. So if you are looking for a happy restaurant, good food, excellent service the cafe at Vermillionville is the place to go. And by the way all of their information is online. So there s no excuse not to go. Have a blessed day, I did, thank you Vermilioville

Was not amazing. Gumbo was nice, but the potato salad was really sweet and bland and the jambalaya was salty. Honestly just ok. Probably won't eat there again.

My husband has stopped here before and said it was the best cajun food! We stopped in today and they had BBQ for their buffet, which they offer once a month and it was amazing! Great service and such a cute atmosphere!
