Southern Forest Heritage Museum

77 Long Leaf Road

The Southern Forest Heritage Museum, located in Long Leaf, Louisiana, is the oldest complete sawmill facility in the South. This complex is unique in that it is a complete sawmill complex dating from the early 20th century, and that it has the most complete collection of steam-powered logging and milling equipment known to exist.

Our mission is to preserve the cultural and natural heritage of the southern forest, and to provide a sense of awareness and pride in that heritage through programs of active public participation

Unique story and lots of old equipment including a steam locomotive. Be weary however if you believe in Ghosts!

Had a blast one year at Halloween. First year the train ran. Have been several times and always enjoy. The grandkids love it.

I was blown away by this place. I had heard about it a lot but finally visited for a wedding. The facilities are impressive and I can't wait to go back to explore!
