The Southern Forest Heritage Museum, located in Long Leaf, Louisiana, is the oldest complete sawmill facility in the South. This complex is unique in that it is a complete sawmill complex dating from the early 20th century, and that it has the most complete collection of steam-powered logging and milling equipment known to exist.

Mission:

Our mission is to preserve the cultural and natural heritage of the southern forest, and to provide a sense of awareness and pride in that heritage through programs of active public participation

Unique story and lots of old equipment including a steam locomotive. Be weary however if you believe in Ghosts!

Had a blast one year at Halloween. First year the train ran. Have been several times and always enjoy. The grandkids love it.

I was blown away by this place. I had heard about it a lot but finally visited for a wedding. The facilities are impressive and I can't wait to go back to explore!
